A Trip to remember: Jamaican Paradise & Yoga 

Reach for the sky!

I had the fortunate experience last week to live in my truth while traveling to sunny Jamaica for my brother's wedding to his sweetheart. I was thrilled when asked to teach some of the guests a Yoga class the day of the wedding! And as you can see it was in the perfect setting! On the beach, overlooking the ocean! Fortunately our epic photographer Richelle Hunter Photography was there to snap a few of these awesome pics! The trip itself was beyond amazing! From the sunny weather, initial bus ride to the resort, the limbo & fire we danced around, to the Dunns River Waterfall, we were all pleasantly surprised at how wonderful everything flowed!! Being in paradise for even a few days in the beginning months of spring, always serves my Vitamin D fix!!! I realize, on trips like these, just how much my heart and soul respond to the sun. Its of no surprise that in the history of our planet, people actually worshiped this blazing ball of fire we call the sun ! Everyday I paid gratitude for this wonderful aspect of Jamaica.

I practiced my personal practice everyday, linking in some cardio and a vinyasa flow! The yoga practice didn't stop there however! The day we went to the Dunns falls river I realized just how much my yoga practice serves me. As 50 people took a leap of faith to trust the local Jamaican up this unbelievable steep waterfall, water flowing around our feet, my breath and sure footing/balance surely paid off! 

The awesome leader called me to the front of the line as we slowly climbed the falls! And as you can see in the pic below, we literally climbed up the falls! Not around or above, but in! It was one of the best aspects of the trip!! The next day everyone was certainly ready for some yoga and TLC on the beach! As we stood with our feet in the sand, the day of the wedding, we all took in the sights and sounds of the Ocean and our surroundings. Although not all yoga settings are quite this miraculous, we will all take a memory of this into our lives moving forward! I am so incredibly grateful to have been able to offer this Yoga class, amongst locals, palm trees and sweet sweet people! Especially the day my brother married his lifelong partner. It set a sweet tone for the day and even for the remaining trip. The wedding turned our fabulously!!!  This vacation really felt like a vacation should. So much ease, play, and adventure! I was sure to take a dip in the Ocean before packing up for Canada. I floated in the sea water, feeling incredibly light and at peace. Simply relinquishing the opportunity to play, flow and feel weightless.  Leaving the island, I will forever carry the sights, friends I met, and of course the opportunity of using my yoga, continuously on the trip! Did I mention the turbulence the flight had and the breath that served me? Yoga truly is a way of life. Not just one fleeting moment. But every moment.
